Psychology Services
At Tic Tac Toe, we offer evidence-based psychology support for children and families experiencing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges.
Our psychologists work collaboratively with parents, educators, and other supports to understand your child’s unique needs and goals. We take a warm, strengths-based approach, tailoring each session to suit your child’s age, stage of development, and personality.
We can support with:
- Emotional regulation
- Behaviours of Concern at home or school
- Social and peer relationship difficulties
- Adjustment to life changes or diagnoses
- Parenting support and family-based strategies
Sessions may include individual therapy with your child, parent-only sessions, or a combination of both. Support is available in clinic, via Telehealth, or in the community (home, kindergarten, or school) depending on your child’s needs.
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) & Parent Coaching
The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is a play-based, evidence-based intervention designed for young children with developmental delays, including autism. It supports learning in key areas such as communication, thinking, and social interaction — all through joyful, everyday interactions.
Originally developed by the MIND Institute in California, ESDM blends behavioural and developmental principles in a way that feels natural and engaging for both children and families.
Our team delivers ESDM sessions:
- In the home
- In early childhood settings (e.g. daycare or kindergarten)
- In clinic
- Or via Telehealth
We also offer parent coaching to help you confidently use ESDM strategies within your daily routines — such as mealtimes, play, or getting ready in the morning.

Assessments
We offer a range of psychological assessments to support understanding of your child’s development, learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
Assessments may be helpful in identifying strengths and challenges, informing support strategies, or assisting with diagnosis. We work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure assessments are relevant, meaningful, and clearly communicated.
Our assessments include:
Cognitive Assessments
Used to understand a child’s thinking and reasoning skills. These assessments are often used to explore intellectual functioning, learning needs, or to support diagnosis (e.g. intellectual developmental delay or giftedness).
Autism Assessments
We use gold-standard tools (such as the ADOS-2 and MIGDAS-2) to assess for Autism Spectrum Disorder. These assessments are play-based and developmentally appropriate. Our team provides a clear, collaborative process including observation, parent interviews, and feedback sessions.
Educational Assessments
Used to assess learning and academic skills such as reading, writing, and maths. These assessments can help identify learning challenges or guide tailored classroom support.
Assessments typically include:
- Initial consultation with parent/s or caregiver/s
- 1:1 sessions with your child (timing varies based on assessment type)
- Comprehensive written report with results and recommendations
- Feedback session to walk you through the outcomes
We are currently prioritising assessments for children under 7 years of age.
